Become Much More Successful with A Faster Windows Operating System
Your personal computer could be made to run and process software faster than before. The technique is to maximize your settings and programs to your advantage. Stash away the idea of reinstalling or buying new hardware for your computer. Following are very easy ways to speed up XP Windows:
> Indexing Services.
Stopping the Indexing Service will have you speed up Windows in a click. This process is very unnoticeable for some but it unexpectedly takes up a lot of memory. The Indexing Service is actually a list that process and updates indexes of all the files in your hard drive. Stay away from it by checking on Start and clicking Settings. Go to Control Panel. Double click on the Add/Remove Programs option. Click Add/Remove Window Components and uncheck Indexing Services. Choose Next.
> Folder Browsing.
Let your clicking and opening of files have no delay. These forms of processes are usually programmed with a delay that would really make you scratch your head in dismay. To speed up Windows, access My Computer, choose Tools and select on Folder Options. Surf on on the View tab and uncheck the option Automatically search for networks folders and printers. Choose Apply, OK and restart your computer.
> NTFS file system.
Winodws XP have to work using NTFS system. To determine, double click My computer and right-click on your C: Drive. Click Properties and verify, the File System Type. If it is FAT32, start backing up all your files and drivers as you would need to set-up your computer. Load an antivirus before going to the next steps. After doing that, select Start, choose Run and type CMD on the bar. Click OK. Type CONVERT C:/FS:NTFS and select the Enter key. Dont be scared if this takes a while. After this start over your computer and enjoy a quicker interface.
> Prefetch Folder.
Windows XP is built with Prefetch options. Youll know how speed up Windows by emptying this folder every three months or so. Dont hesitate in deleting files in this folder because they are not that vital to the processes of your personal computer. They are being reloaded repeatedly to obtain processes. If your PC cant locate them, it will create fresh ones that are cosiderd lighter than the long standing files.
> Disk Clean-up.
Windows XP is equipped with a Disk Clean-up that you can utilize. Hit on My Computer, right click on drive C and afterwards go to Properties. Select on the disk clean-up button and its going to show you its cleaning process. Run this program every three months.
